Our church is invited to participate in the Fern Hollow Nature Center Summer Celebration on June 8th from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Come enjoy a concert by Leap of Faith, yard games for the family, a picnic on the lawn and some quality outdoor time. Easter Sunday, April 21 at 10 am – The Education Committee is sponsoring an Easter Egg Hunt for all children up through fifth grade. All youth are welcome to help with the hunt.
This Sunday’s Lenten Program begins at 6 pm when teams representing Leap of Faith, Youth, Clergy, and Monthly Luncheons will face off in our 6th Annual Church Family Feud. The covered dish dinner begins at 5 pm. Please bring a side for the table.
The Bishop is holding debriefing sessions in each district so lay and clergy members of the United Methodist Church in Western Pennsylvania hear accurate information about the decisions made at the Special Called Session of General Conference and the process we, as an annual conference, will undertake in order to implement the legislation that passed. The Pittsburgh District Debriefing is Sunday, March 24 at 2 pm at Salem UMC (350 Manor Rd, Wexford, PA 15090).

Church Family Feud returns for the 6th year as part of our Lenten Program on April 7. This year, the 4 teams are Youth, Clergy, Leap of Faith, and the Salad Luncheon crew. To prepare for Church Family Feud, 100 people need to be surveyed. Please fill out the survey here.
Coraopolis UMC (1205 Ridge Road, Coraopolis) is hosting a recital series Wednesdays during Lent at noon with a light lunch following. Dr. Edward Moore, Music Director of East Liberty Presbyterian Church, will bring tomorrow’s (March 13) concert.
We will be offering Kids Night Out as part of Sunday evening's Lenten Dinner program. The children, ages preschool through fifth grade, will join their families and the church family for dinner in the Simpson Room at 5. At approximately 5:45, we will gather the children who want to join us for a Bible story, craft, activity and prayer. The children will then rejoin their families in the sanctuary for the final songs in the hymn sing.
Our Lenten fellowship on Sunday evenings begins this coming Sunday, March 17. We meet for dinner at 5 pm and a program at 6 pm. This week’s dinner theme is “St. Patrick’s Day” with the UMW serving as dinner hosts and providing Irish Stew. Please bring a side, salad or dessert to share. The program on March 17 is a hymn sing.
St. Stephen’s and St. James are each hosting concerts this weekend.
Ash Wednesday dinner and worship will be observed on Wednesday, March 6, at SUMC, when we come together with St. Matthew’s AME Zion Church. The evening will begin with our traditional meatless meal at 6 pm; please bring a meatless side dish or salad to share. Fish and macaroni and cheese will be provided. The service will begin at 7 pm.

Pastor Russel and Nancy are hosting two open houses this Christmas season: This Sunday, December 2, and Sunday, December 16, from 12:30 to 3 pm, and everyone is invited.
We had a great time at the West Hills Escape Room for our first big outing of the year, and we’ve got lots more planned in the coming months.
SUMC is gearing up for our third annual trip to Creation Fest in Mt. Union, PA, one of the largest Christian Music Festivals in the nation with headlining acts like Crowder, Tenth Avenue North, Mandisa, and Skillet. Creation Fest 2019 will be Wednesday, June 26th through Saturday, June 29th. The main group will plan to leave Wednesday late morning and return on Sunday, June 30th by early afternoon. Everyone is welcome to come with us, but we especially encourage the youth to attend this fun week of Christian music, fellowship, and worship.
SUMC is heading to Creation Fest again this summer! Join us for four days of Christian music, speakers, fellowship, and camping in Mt. Union, PA.
We are having a fellowship meal after the 11 am All Saints’ Service on Sunday, Nov. 4, and everyone is welcome to attend. Please bring a dish to share. Meat and beverages will be provided.
